Personnel from the 305th Air Mobility Wing, U.S. Air Force leaders and Boeing Co. representatives hosted the C-17 Globemaster III Enterprise Home Station Check Lean Event here, June 18. The Air Force-wide enterprise event brought together everyone affiliated with the C-17 missions and worked to minimize the time frame for the aircraft’s home station check process, which is a required scheduled inspection. All participants who attended worked to streamline and lean out productivity issues.

AMC achieves electronic flight bags milestone

Air Mobility Command recently achieved a milestone with its electronic flight bag initiative. All AMC wings and aircraft are now approved to use electronic flight bags - portable electronic devices that consolidates nearly 120 pounds of paper products into a single tablet. The tablet contains electronic flight information publications such as navigational charts, and also digital publications, such as Air Force instructions and technical orders.
