Airman 1st Class Jason Epley

Senior Airman Samantha Brunner, a 332nd Expeditionary Aerospace Medical Squadron aerospace medical service journeyman, helps rack a patient onto a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, Nov. 27, 2008, during an aeromedical evacuation mission in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Air Mobility Command performed patient movements non-stop since OIF began, transporting more than 150,000 patients to critical medical care. AMC’s aeromedical evacuation efforts increased the odds of surviving a combat injury to approximately 98 percent by expediting the return of wounded servicemembers to the U.S. within three days or less (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Jason Epley).
