Dennis Davis, left, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District transportation management specialist and Jason Metts, right, Cooper Ports America International Longshoremen's Association superintendent, look on as the USNS Brittin (T-AKR-305) with 855 pieces of equipment Oct. 28, 2017, at Joint Base Charleston-Weapons Station, S.C. The USNS Brittin will make several trips between Joint Base Charleston and Puerto Rico over the next few months. The first trip is bringing essentials such as food, water and vehicles to get aid to areas where mudslides have created access issues. Later deliveries will provide the equipment to restore utilities and rebuild the infrastructure on the island.
