USTRANSCOM’s Mission Assurance Division
U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Kenneth “Mike” Shirley, chief, Mission Assurance Division, Operations Directorate, U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, is pictured. Comprised of four separate branches and one office, the Mission Assurance Division focuses on the mitigation of all natural and man-made risks, hazards, and threats, which could potentially impact USTRANSCOM’s global operations and personnel. Shirley leads a division consisting of more than 60 military members, federal civilians, and contractors who assess and identify risks, provide suggested mitigation measures to command leadership, and ultimately protect the combatant command from internal and external threats.
