11/24/2010 - SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., has been selected by Air Mobility Command to represent the command in the Air Force competition for the 2011 John L. Hennessy Trophy in the single facility category.
The Hennessy Trophy is an annual award presented to Air Force installations with the best food-service programs. Awards are based on the entire scope of an installation's food-service program. Winners must display excellence in management effectiveness, force-readiness support, food quality, employee and customer relations, resource conservation, training and safety awareness, officials said.
The announcement came from a message from Col. Steven J. Beatty, AMC's Director of Manpower, Personnel and Services, on Nov. 23.
"This year's selection process was highly competitive, underscoring the professionalism and dedication of our services professionals, and the outstanding support you provide them," Colonel Beatty said in the message.
Joint Base MDL will now compete with other facilities from across the Air Force with winners being announced in 2011.
