Annual Weather Award winners named

Air Mobility Command has named the AMC Weather Award winners for 2003. They are:

Outstanding AMC Weather Operations Support Field Grade Officer of the Year (Barney Award nominee): Maj. Travis Steen, 89th Operations Support Squadron, Andrews AFB, Md.

Outstanding AMC Weather Operations Support Company Grade Officer of the Year (Grisham Award nominee): Capt. Jason Mercer, 15th Operational Weather Squadron, Scott AFB.

Outstanding AMC Weather Operations Support Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year (Gardner Award nominee): Master Sgt. Charles Monk. Jr., 15th OWS, Scott AFB.

Outstanding AMC Weather Operations Support NCO of the Year (Pierce Award nominee): Tech. Sgt. Dohn Terrell Jr., 621st AMS, McGuire AFB, N.J.

Outstanding AMC Weather Operations Support Airman of the Year (Dodson Award nominee): Senior Airman Joshua Cahall, 15th OWS, Scott AFB.

Outstanding AMC Weather Operations Support Civilian of the Year (Jenner Award nominee): Gregory Harris, 15th OWS, Scott AFB.

Outstanding AMC Staff Weather Support Officer of the Year (Best Award nominee): Capt. Robb Randall, 15th OWS, Scott AFB.

Outstanding AMC Staff Weather Support senior noncommissioned officer of the year (best award nominee): Master Sgt. Lawrence McCoy, 15th OWS, Scott AFB.

Outstanding AMC Weather IMA of the Year (Spengler Award nominee): Maj. Bridget Davis, 15th OWS, Scott AFB.

Outstanding AMC Meteorological Achievement of the Year (Merewether Award nominee): Training and Systems Branch, 15th OWS, Scott AFB.

Outstanding AMC climatologist of the Year (Zimmerman Award nominee): Global Mobility Flight, 15th OWS, Scott AFB.

Outstanding AMC Weather Flight of the Year (Grimes-Williams Award nominee): 89th OSS/OSW, Andrews AFB.

The AMC award winners will now compete at Air Force level. Although there is no AMC-level Operational Weather Squadron Award, the 15th OWS, Scott AFB, will also be forwarded to Air Force-level competition to compete for the Fawbush-Miller Award.
