AMC people encouraged to circle the globe

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, ILL. --   Starting June 1 and continuing through August, Air Mobility Command personnel and their family members are encouraged to fly Around The World In Ninety Days.

"Around The World In Ninety Days, more commonly known as ATWIND, is AMC's summertime program wherein participants can win big prizes for participating in various activities at their base," said Larry Krauss, Chief, AMC Services Operations Division.

Last year's ATWIND program set an all-time record participation level with 83,189 registered participants. With the prizes this year, Mr. Krauss said participation could go even higher.

This year's program will award more than 7,500 prizes in only 90 days. The grand prize winner will have their choice of a 2004 Saturn ION, VUE or L300. Other prizes include Thomasville Furniture, pairs of US Airways tickets to the destination of your choice, thousands of dollars in cash, and much more.

ATWIND is an inter-active, Web-based program designed to increase awareness and participation in Air Force programs, services and activities. Players receive game pieces for participating in ATWIND designated events. Each game piece is worth 1,100 miles in the player's quest to circle the globe. Players can register their game pieces online or by calling the toll-free ATWIND hotline at 888-597-9960. During a trip around the world, players visit one of five destinations, each with its own special prize offerings.

AMC and Air Force Space Command are partnered for the fourth straight year to provide the ATWIND program. Each MAJCOM is conducting its own version of ATWIND and each has its own prize pool. Collectively, more than 12,000 prizes will be awarded during the 90 days, including two new cars.
