C-17s evacuate Wake Island residents

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- Evacuees from Wake Island arrive at Hickam Air Force Base, Aug. 28. Two C-17s from the 15th Airlift Wing evacuated all 188 people from the atoll in advance of Super Typhoon Ioke which is forecasted to hit Aug. 30. The 735th Air Mobility Squadron received and processed the evacuees through customs and immigration before they went to area hotels. (U.S. Air Force photo)
