Welcome to the Ramstein Passenger Terminal

Pre-Booked Passengers & Space-Required Passengers

Check-in counters are open for check-in 24 hrs prior to departure for Patriot Express (PE) flights and 6 hrs prior to departure for military aircraft. Please keep in mind when checking in early, passengers will need to have ALL checked baggage, carry-on items, and pets with them. Passengers need to have all documentation (passports, orders, pet paperwork, etc.) ready and on their person at all times. Rental vehicles need to be turned into the vendor, or the key drop boxes prior to CHECK-IN. Duty, PCS, and Pre-Booked passengers must be in the terminal NO LATER THAN (NLT) **4 hrs 30 mins** prior to scheduled departure. Those passengers who arrive after the NLT time will be re-directed to Customer Service for further re-booking information.  Please see our 72 Hour Flight Schedule to see all report no later than times & roll call times for pre-booked passengers & space-required passengers. Inbound Passengers from Baltimore International, Maryland

The German Zoll resumed normal operations for veterinarian services in the Ramstein Passenger Terminal after a 2-year hiatus for Covid-19 Protocols. Effective immediately: The German Zoll will charge each inbound pet owner a one-time fee of €48 (1 or 2 pets), to read their Avid microchip(s), and review veterinary documentation. The German Zoll will have credit card readers available on site to process funds in the inbound customs area upon arrival. Please be advised that this is a Host Nation requirement.

Space Available Passengers

The Space-Available program is currently available to all passengers that fall within the categories as stated in the Department of Defense Instruction 4515.13, Air Transportation Eligibility.

On April 22, 2022, a memorandum was released that reinstated the full use of the Space-Available travel program and lifted all limitations due to Covid-19.

All eligible Space-A passengers are still required to comply with the travel requirements stated in the DoD Force Health Protection Guidance and the Foreign Clearance Guide.

Roll calls are conducted at the Flight Control desk (adjacent to the elevator) 4 hours and 20 minutes prior to departure. Please keep in mind Space-A travelers on a Patriot Express flight will incur a charge of $40.03 per passenger for Head Tax and Federal Inspection Fee.

Additional Information

Passengers are reminded that baggage limitations are: 2 bags per individual, limited to 70 pounds max weight per bag and not to exceed the dimensions of 62 linear inches, unless otherwise stated on your orders. Passengers may have one carry-on bag and one personal item, that must fit under any aircraft seat.

These guidelines are up to date as of 31 June 2022, subject to change as the Foreign Clearance Guide is a living document, and changes without notice. 

Travel to United States  

On a Patriot Express mission to the United States from Ramstein AB passengers on official orders (including dependents, contractors and DOD civilians) no longer require a Covid-19 test prior to departure, please check with connecting carriers for their requirements.

Passengers on leisure travel no longer require a negative Covid-19 test prior to departure to the United States per USTRANSCOM Guidance released on 14 June 2022.

Travel to Qatar 

All travelers inbound to Qatar, must receive a negative PCR COVID-19 test within 48 hours from Departure on the international leg of their trip OR recovery letter within 90 days and positive test result. 

Proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test must be presented to airline personnel when a passenger boards an aircraft. Boarding will not be permitted for passengers without a negative PCR COVID-19 test result issues more than 72 hours of arrival.

For your test, time zones must be taken into account. Ramstein is in Central European Time zone.

If you have had a positive viral test on a sample taken during the past 90 days, and you have met the criteria to end isolation, you may travel instead with your positive viral test results and a signed letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official that states you have been cleared for travel. The positive test result and letter together are referred to as “documentation of recovery.”

Travel to Kuwait

There are no longer any Covid-19 requirements for travelers to Kuwait as of 27 July 2022.

Travel to Turkey

Travelers to Turkey arriving from all our border gates, including landings at land, air, sea, railway, and military airports, must meet one of the following conditions:

  • Received at least two doses (single dose for Johnson & Johnson) of the vaccines approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization, and that at least 14 days have passed since the last dose
  • Proof of disease recovery, valid for 6 months, starting from 28 days after the first PCR positive test result.
  • A PCR test report with a negative result maximum 72 hours before the entry

Children under the age of 12 will be exempted from vaccination certificate applications with a valid PCR (27 hours prior)/antigen (48 hours) test report.
Passengers arriving into Turkey may be subject to a random PCR test at their final destination in Turkey.

A completed “Traveler Entry Form” must be presented at check-in and upon arrival. The form can be obtained at http://register.health.gov.tr

Fully vaccinated travelers are those individuals who are 14 days post-completion of COVID-19 vaccination with an FDA-authorized vaccine and meet all the CDC criteria for the specific vaccine administered. Such individuals must maintain proof of vaccination and be prepared to show said proof prior to being allowed on the aircraft. 

Travel to Niger (Agades/Niamey)

All fully vaccinated travelers inbound to Niger, no longer require a negative PCR COVID-19 test, recovery letter not accepted for travel. 

Unvaccinated Passengers must hold a negative PCR test result obtained within 72 hours prior to arrival.

Fully vaccinated travelers are those individuals who are 14 days post-completion of COVID-19 vaccination with an FDA-authorized vaccine and meet all the CDC criteria for the specific vaccine administered. Such individuals must maintain proof of vaccination and be prepared to show said proof prior to being allowed on the aircraft.

Acceptable Covid-19 result formats for Turkey: Hardcopy, Digital

Travel to Djibouti, Djibouti

Travelers to Djibouti are required to be fully vaccinated or must present a negative PCR test within 72 hours of travel OR a 90-day recovery letter from their medical provider with the date of the positive test.

Fully vaccinated travelers are those individuals who are 14 days post-completion of COVID-19 vaccination with an FDA-authorized vaccine and meet all the CDC criteria for the specific vaccine administered. Such individuals must maintain proof of vaccination and be prepared to show said proof prior to being allowed on the aircraft.

Acceptable Covid-19 result formats for Djibouti: Hardcopy, Digital
