• Empower leadership at every level – to lead, to innovate, to win • Strengthen Airmen and family resilience – mind, body, spirit, and craft

MISSION: Deliver Rapid Global Mobility (RGM) at speed and scale across the competition continuum – connecting, enabling, and integrating JF lethality anywhere in the world under any conditions.

We will:

• Guarantee our nuclear mission support to the airborne layer of the nuclear triad

• Mitigate threats in the air and on the ground to increase fleet survivability

• Fully integrate through command and control with geographic air operations centers

• Digitally connect the fleet to operate with relevance, agility, and at the tempo required to win

• Strengthen and modernize the tanker fleet to meet air refueling requirements now and in the future

COMMITMENT: Our unrelenting determination to accomplish the RGM mission enables AMC to improvise, adapt, and overcome any obstacle to project and sustain combat power and build warfighting advantage.

We will:

• Align and support the Air Force’s (AF) priorities as we build a more lethal and ready force

• Provide credible capacity to the JF to deter, fight, and win decisively

• Ensure the fleet remains viable and relevant for the future fight

• Inform force development and design initiatives to acquire next-generation RGM capabilities

History

Air Mobility Command was activated June 1, 1992, with headquarters at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and is one of 11 major Air Force commands. On Oct. 1, 2016, AMC consolidated with Military Air Command making AMC the oldest major command in the Air Force tracing its history to the establishment of the Air Corps Ferrying Command on May 29, 1941. As the air component of the U.S. Transportation Command, AMC is comprised of a Total Force effort to execute Rapid Global Mobility and enable Global Reach –the ability to respond anywhere in the world in a matter of hours. This is accomplished through AMC’s four core mission areas – Airlift, Air Refueling, Air Mobility Support and Aeromedical Evacuation. AMC also provides support to the nuclear enterprise.
