Fort Polk based 621st CRW liaison officer dies Published March 22, 2012 By Public Affairs 621st Contingency Response Wing JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- An Air Force servicemember assigned to the 621st Contingency Response Wing, stationed at Fort Polk, La. was found dead in his residence in Leesville, La., on March 21. Air Force Lt. Col. Christopher E. Gavin was an air mobility liaison officer for the Army's 4th Brigade, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Polk. He had been on active duty for 26 years and had been stationed at Fort Polk since 2009. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the loved ones of those involved during this difficult time, and we stand ready to support," said Col. Chris B. Patterson, 621st Contingency Response Wing commander. "This will no doubt be a trying time for the family and friends of the Gavins." This incident is currently under investigation and at this time no further information is available.
