The 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron was named the Air Force Non-flying Logistics Readiness Squadron of the Year for 2010.

This comes as a result of some other accomplishments to include being one of two LRS squadrons out of 19 in Air Mobility Command to receive an "Outstanding" on the Logistics Compliance Assessment Program and participating in the 375th Air Mobility Wing Operational Readiness Inspection, which earned an "Excellent."

The squadron also won the 2010 Air Force Weapons Explosive Safety Award and four individual functional AMC awards.

"First and foremost, this award represents the hard work of the outstanding Airmen, NCOs, senior NCOs, officers and civilians of the squadron," said Maj. Kyle Hurwitz, 375th LRS commander. "They are a fantastic bunch who take ownership of their work and have a tremendous amount of pride in what they do and how they do it.

"Squadron leadership sets extremely high standards; every time the squadron rises to the challenge and they surpass our expectations each time."

The 375th LRS's mission is to provide combat Airmen who are trained to safely execute the supply, fuels, munitions, traffic management, aerial port, ground transportation, vehicle management and logistics plans capabilities necessary to enable the wing's ability to deliver expedient operation support airlift, aeromedical evacuation capability and agile combat support to the warfighter.

"This award is such a big deal because it recognizes the contributions and teamwork of the entire squadron," said the commander. "We would not have won the award without the hard work and dedication of all 254 men and women that make up the squadron."
"Honestly, even if we hadn't won this award, I know this squadron is the best in the Air Force, winning this award though, only serves to validate that belief."

In May, the squadron plans to host a potluck to celebrate the award. The potluck will also serve as an event to focus on the final three months of preparation left before a compliance inspection in August.

"I know the squadron is tackling our compliance inspection with the same ownership and pride that allowed us to win this award," said Major Hurwitz.

The 375th LRS previously won Air Force Logistics Readiness Squadron of the Year in 2003.
