The Travis Air Force Base Defense Logistics Agency recently won the first quarterly DLA Customer Service Award, which covers the fourth quarter of 2010.

DLA, formerly known as the Document Automation and Production Service, is the Department of Defense's primary source for document automation and printing.

"The Travis DLA location really is the premier agency," said Mr. Chris Rogers, DLA Document Services Northern California supervisor. "Our location is the only source of decals for the entire DoD."

The Travis DLA is solely responsible for the production of all decals such as personal car decals, aircraft tails, military vehicles and all unit and squadrons not only for the Air Force, but for all branches of the military and agencies under the DoD.

"This is not the first award the agency has won, but the third award for this year, said Mr. Rogers. "The Travis DLA won the February and May monthly Customer Service Awards."

DLA has now made the award a quarterly event, he said.

The selection for each award is based solely on customer surveys, which encompasses more than 180 DLA agencies throughout the DoD.

The award primarily is due to the crew's interaction with their customers, but also has to do with the quality of their work.

"This is an honor and a huge morale booster for the office," said Katherine Kruczek, DLA document Services graphic artist. "It really shows that our customers all over the world really do appreciate our work."

Decals are only one aspect of the DLA's job, they are also responsible for providing traditional offset printing, distribution, on-demand output and an online customer interface.

"We have an amazing crew here on Travis. Some of our people have been here for more than 17 years," said Mr. Rogers. "These awards really have shown our progress over the last five years and we look forward to winning many more in the near future."
