Air Force Capt. Wendy Kosek, a 19th Airlift Wing legal officer, along with her brother, Army Capt. Joe Kosek, assistant professor of Army Science for the Notre Dame ROTC program, and Air Force Maj. Gen. Fred Roggero, Air Force chief of safety, were among alumni recognized in a ceremony during half-time of the Notre Dame, Washington State football game held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Captain Wendy Kosek is currently undergoing physical therapy at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas for wounds sustained in Iraq.  On Aug. 21, while on a convoy, her vehicle was struck by an explosively formed projectile, or EFP, an improvised explosive device that is formed to directly penetrate armor and release shrapnel in all directions, injuring her and some of her teammates.
