U.S. Army Soldiers prepare to gather fuel supplies being dropped from a C-130 Hercules aircraft onto a landing zone at Forward Operating Base Baylough in the Zabul province of Afghanistan on Sept. 17, 2009.

The Soldiers are assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment. Air Mobility Command aircraft, based at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, continue to directly support Army Soliders through airdrops like this in remote areas of Afghanistan.

In July, the Air Force airdropped a record 3.3 million pounds of cargo in Afghanistan.
