AMC announces impact of FY2010 Force Structure Realignments Published June 26, 2009 SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Air Mobility Command officials announced today its overall net impact, after considering all pluses and minus, is an additional 1,029 personnel authorizations, plus delivery of 14 additional C-17s and 3 additional C-130Js as part of the Air Force's Fiscal Year 2010 Force Structure Announcement. The FSA presented to Congress each year outlines the Air Force's intent to realign, consolidate and enhance unit operations. This announcement addresses the president's budgeted force structure, realignment and management actions required to achieve efficiencies, modernize or make changes. Resources were distributed throughout AMC according to requirements set by the command. Some billets are new, while others will be administratively realigned from other commands and services. Air Mobility Command is an Air Force major command that provides America's global reach through its airlift, aeromedical evacuation, and refueling capabilities. On a typical day, mobility forces fly about 900 sorties and move nearly 2,000 tons of cargo and more than 6,000 passengers. This operations tempo equates to a mobility aircraft departure every 90 seconds or less, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
