Voter registration deadline nears for Airmen and dependents

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. --  The deadline for Airmen and their voting-eligible dependents to register to vote in the 2008 general election is nearing in most states.

While the registration window is currently open for all states and unincorporated territories, except Puerto Rico, registration windows will close as early as Friday in some states, according to the Federal Voting Assistance Program website.

If Airmen or eligible family members have not registered to vote and wish to do so, visit http://www.fvap.gov/ to learn about your state's voting registration process, complete the required registration forms and find information about submitting the forms to the appropriate Board of Elections.
