Med Evac flies first non-stop from Afghanistan to Germany
First Lt. Shane House and other medical air crew members load patients onto ambulances before loading them onto an awaiting aircraft for the first non-stop medical evacuation flight from Bagram, Afghanistan, to Landstuhl, Germany, March 21. The normal three- to five-day route through Kuwait to Landstuhl has been reduced to a 10-hour direct flight to provide faster service to wounded servicemembers and Department of Defense civilians.
