Emergency services extinguish KC-135 fire Published Sept. 27, 2006 MANAS AIR BASE, Kyrgyzstan -- Emergency services of the Manas International Airport and U.S. Air Force firefighters responded and extinguished a fire on a KC-135 Stratotanker on the airfield here Sept. 26. The three-member crew had just returned from an aerial-refueling mission when the incident occurred. The crew evacuated safely from the aircraft with no reported injuries. The KC-135 aircraft is assigned to the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Air Force and airport officials.
