AMC officials announce senior officer retirement, assignments

Air Mobility Command officials announced the following senior officer retirement and assignments:

Senior officer retirement:

Col. David A. Sowinski, commander, 6th Maintenance Group, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., will retire effective June 2005.

Senior officer assignments:

Col. David W. Norsworthy, chief, Maintenance Policy, Directorate of Logistics, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will replace Colonel Sowinski, effective March 2005.

Col. Timothy G. Grosz, commander, 721st Air Mobility Operations Group, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, will become commander of the Contingency Response Wing under the 15th Expeditionary Mobility Task Force, Travis AFB, Calif., effective April 2005.

Col. Jennifer L. Pickett, deputy chief, Mobility Division, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., will become commander of a Contingency Response Group under the 15th EMTF, Travis AFB, effective June 2005.

Lt. Col. Michael A. Fernandez, chief, Doctrine and Policy Division, Directorate of Plans and Programs, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will become commander of a CRG under the 15th EMTF, Travis AFB, effective April 2005.

Lt. Col. Robert D. Thomas, a student at the National Defense University, Fort McNair, Washington, D.C., will become commander of a CRG under the 15th EMTF, Travis AFB, effective August 2005.

Col. John R. Ranck Jr., vice commander, 89th Airlift Wing, Andrews AFB, Md., will become commander of the CRW under the 21st EMTF, McGuire AFB, N.J., effective March 2005.

Col. Lloyd B. Moon Jr., chief, Requirements Division, Hq. U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill AFB, will become commander of a CRG under the 21st EMTF, McGuire AFB, effective March 2005.

Col. Dean A. Nelson, deputy commander, Operations, 463rd Airlift Group, Little Rock AFB, Ark., will become commander of a CRG under the 21st EMTF, McGuire AFB, effective April 2005.

Lt. Col. Richard J. Walberg, a student at the National Defense University, Fort McNair, Washington, D.C., will become commander of a CRG under the 21st EMTF, McGuire AFB, effective June 2005.
