AMC officials announce senior officer retirement, assignments Published March 4, 2005 SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Air Mobility Command officials announced the following senior officer retirements and assignments:Senior officer retirements:Col. David L. Thurston, director of Public Affairs, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will retire in September.Col. Larry W. Brittenham, chief, Plans and Programs Division, Directorate of Installations and Mission Support, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will retire in June.Col. Raymond S. Dougherty, commander, Diagnostic Imaging Flight, 60th Diagnostics and Therapeutics Squadron, Travis AFB, Calif., will retire in July.Col. Michael D. Elrod, chief, Expeditionary Mobility Operations Division, Directorate of Operations, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will retire in September.Col. Rebecca J. Gentry, chief, Plans, Policy and Resources Division, Directorate of Communications and Information, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will in June.Col. Ann M. Vrtis, commander, 89th Surgical Operations Squadron, Andrews AFB, Md., will retire in May.Senior officer assignments:Maj. Gen. Paul W. Essex, director, Plans and Programs, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will become commander, Army and Air Force Exchange Service, Dallas, Texas.Col. Raymond G. Torres, commander, 15th Airlift Wing, Hickam AFB, Hawaii, will become vice commander, 21st Expeditionary Mobility Task Force, McGuire AFB, N.J., in May. He will replace Col. William J. Bender, who was previously announced.Col. William J. Changose, vice commander, 43rd Airlift Wing, Pope AFB, N.C., will replace Colonel Torres in March.Col. Stephen L. Burgess, deputy commander, 615th Air Mobility Operations Group, Travis AFB, will replace Colonel Changose in March.Col. Teresa L. Dicks, commander, 332nd Expeditionary Maintenance Group, will become commander, 319th Maintenance Group, Grand Forks AFB, N.D., in August. She will replace Col. Michael J. Saville, who was previously announced.Col. William G. Palmby, Air Force Fellow, The Brookings Institution, Washington, D.C., will replace Colonel Thurston in June.Col. Michael W.
