AMC announces senior officer retirements, assignments

Air Mobility Command officials recently announced the following senior officer retirements and assignments:

Senior officer retirements:

Col. Steven R. Capenos, director of Intelligence, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will retire in October.

Col. Anthony V. Levy, deputy comptroller, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will retire in September.

Col. Robert L. Worley Jr., deputy director, Installations and Mission Support Directorate, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will retire in August.

Senior leader announcements:

The President has nominated Maj. Gen. Christopher A. Kelly to the Senate for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as the vice commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB. General Kelly is currently commander, Air Mobility Warfare Center, Fort Dix, N.J.

Brig. Gen. David S. Gray, commander, 89th Airlift Wing, Andrews AFB, Md., will become commander, AMWC, Fort Dix.

Brig. Gen. (select) John I. Pray Jr., commander, 436th Airlift Wing, Dover AFB, Del., will become commander, 89th AW, Andrews AFB.

Col. Benjamin D. Trotter, chief, Programs Division, Directorate of Services, Hq. Air Combat Command, Langley AFB, Va., will become chief, Services Operations Division, Installations and Mission Support Directorate, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, effective in June.

Col. Loraine H. Anderson, commander, 60th Diagnostic and Therapeutic Squadron, Travis AFB, Calif., will become deputy commander, 20th Medical Group, Shaw AFB, S.C., effective in July.

Col. Stephanie F. McCann, commander, 89th Diagnostic and Therapeutic Squadron, Andrews AFB, will replace Colonel Anderson, effective in June.

Col. Laurel A. Warish, deputy director of Communications and Information, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will become chief, Computers and Information Technology, Hq. Air Force Materiel Command Computer Systems Office, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, effective in July.

Col. John R. Taglieri, deputy director of Communications and Information, Hq. Air Education and Training Command, Randolph AFB, Texas, will replace Colonel Warish, effective in July.

Col. Roger S. Goetz, chief, Medical Support Division and Command Administrator, Office of the Command Surgeon, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will become commander, 72nd Medical Group, Tinker AFB, Okla., effective in August.

Col. Robert U. Hamilton, commander, 314th Medical Group, Little Rock AFB, Ark., will replace Colonel Goetz, effective in July.

Col. Mark L. Allen, commander, 60th Medical Support Squadron, Travis AFB, will become Commander, 21st Medical Group, Peterson AFB, Colo., effective in June.

Col. Fred M. Hannan Jr., commander, 65th MDG, Lajes Field, Portugal (Azores), will become chief, Medical Readiness Division, Office of the Command Surgeon, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, effective in July.

Col. Carolyn V. Small, commander, 732nd Air Mobility Squadron, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, will become chief, Aerial Port Operations Division, Directorate of Operations, Hq. Air Force Reserve Command, Robins AFB, Ga., effective in July.

Lt. Col. Michael H. Thornton, senior executive officer, Directorate of Operations, U.S. Transportation Command, Scott AFB, will replace Colonel Small, effective in June.

Col. Gary L. Elliott, chief, Aircraft Maintenance Division, Directorate of Logistics, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, will become commander, 55th Maintenance Group, Offutt AFB, Neb., effective in June.

Lt. Col. Gerald J. Frisbee, deputy commander for maintenance, 463rd Airlift Group, Little Rock AFB, will become chief of maintenance, Directorate of Logistics, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, effective in August.

Lt. Col. James C. Moulton, chief, War Plans Branch, U.S. TRANSCOM, Scott AFB, will become deputy commander, 317th Airlift Group, Dyess AFB, Texas, effective in June. He will replace Col. Alvin M. Lowry Jr., who was previously announced.

Lt. Col. James D. Clifton, chief, Analysis Team, U.S. TRANSCOM, Scott AFB, will become deputy commander, 721st Air Mobility Operations Group, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, effective in June. He will replace Col. John M. Meek, who was previously announced.

Col. Eugene Dacus, appropriations liaison officer, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., will replace Colonel Levy, effective in July.

Lt. Col. Claude V. Fuller Jr., commander, 62nd Civil Engineering Squadron, McChord AFB, Wash., will become squadron commander and chief, Readiness Division, Directorate of Installations and Mission Support, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, effective in July. He will replace Col. Timothy L. Boone, who was previously announced.

Lt. Col. Virgil A. I. Grogean, commander, 6th Comptroller Squadron, MacDill AFB, Fla., will become chief, Programs and Analysis Division, Directorate of the Comptroller, Hq. AMC, Scott AFB, effective in August.

Col. Philip M. Riede, commander, 612th Air Intelligence Group, Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., will replace Colonel Capenos, effective in August.

Col. Michael R. Shanahan, chief, Operations Center, U.S. Northern Command, Peterson AFB, will become chief, C-17 Program Office, 60th Air Mobility Wing, Travis AFB, effective in May.

Col. Samuel D. Cox, vice commander, 437th Airlift Wing, Charleston AFB, S.C., will become commander, 436th AW, Dover AFB, effective in May. He will replace Brig. Gen. (select) John I. Pray Jr., who was previously announced.

Lt. Col. Steven B. Harrison, global mobility champion, Deputy Chief of Staff for Air and Space Operations, Hq. U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., will replace Colonel Cox, effective in May.
