McChord Air Force Reserve pilot captures NAACP award Published June 10, 2004 MCCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Maj. Kimberly Scott, a C-17 pilot with the 728th Airlift Squadron, an activated Air Force Reserve squadron here, is the recipient of the 2004 NAACP Roy Wilkins Renown Service Award for the Air Force.The award will be presented June 10 during the NAACP 29th annual Armed Services and Veterans Affairs Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C. Major Scott will be attending the national award ceremony with her parents.The NAACP award recognizes individuals who have had a significant, positive impact in the areas of public service, civil rights, minorities and women in both the civilian and military populations.Major Scott is an active mentor for youth through her civilian career as an Alaska Airlines pilot, a Reserve C-17 pilot and an active member of the Tuskegee Airmen, Women in Aviation and Organization of Black Airline Pilots.
