Investigation report details death at Scott Air Force Base

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. --  Air Mobility Command officials released the ground accident investigation board report regarding the Oct. 29, 2015, death of an Airmen who collapsed during his physical fitness assessment at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

Tech. Sgt. Nicholas T. Kruse-Wright, assigned to the 375th Force Support Squadron at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, died due to complications from an identified pre-existing medical condition which manifested while he was participating in the 1.5-mile run portion of his October 26, 2015, fitness assessment. Kruse-Wright was on his final lap when he collapsed and complained of his legs hurting. He was then transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Illinois, and passed away three days later.

"The 375th Air Mobility Wing lost a valued member of our Air Force family, and we are deeply saddened. Tech. Sgt. Kruse-Wright is missed by the entire wing and all who had the opportunity to serve with him," said Colonel Laura L. Lenderman, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends."
