Veteran's Day message to Mobility Airmen

Mobility Airmen,

Please let me take a moment of your time to thank you for your service, dedication, and commitment; I am humbled and in awe of you every day.  Simply put, our nation remains free because of you and the thousands of Airmen and veterans who preceded us.

This Veteran's Day, I encourage you to reflect on our proud heritage and consider the impact a relatively small number of citizen soldiers have on our country and world.  In just this last week, Mobility Airmen played a vital part of exercise Trident Juncture involving 28 NATO allies and 160 aircraft to test our Rapid Global Response capability.  Meanwhile, half a world away, Airmen enabled Missile Defense Agency tests in the Western Pacific.  All while we fueled the fight against ISIL.

These are only a few examples of what we do all the time.  Whether it is a nation in desperate need of humanitarian relief, or an adversary contemplating a hostile act, the world knows the United States can be there in a matter of hours.  That's because of Rapid Global Mobility.  That's because of you.

On Veteran's Day, take the opportunity to thank the long line of service members from whom we've inherited our legacy of excellence but also share your story with the American people.  Be proud of who you are and the heritage you represent.

Always remember, we are Mobility Airmen and we are Air Power!  Thank you for your continued service.
