Still time to donate to CFC this year

The Combined Federal Campaign is offering a new way for individuals to donate to their charity of choice.

This year's CFC, which began Oct. 5, allows donors to search for charities and make contributions electronically via myPay.

The shift towards e-giving via myPay allows the CFC to decrease the cost, therefore allowing more of the donation to go toward the chosen organization target as opposed to CFC's administrative expenses.

Additionally, the electronic option allows for real-time goal updates, and lists more local charities that may not be listed in the catalog.

"I really like the online giving capability, because it helps reduce the overhead cost, and it's pretty painless and quick," said Gen. Carlton D. Everhart, Commander, Air Mobility Command.

Although there is a new electronic giving option, individuals may still donate to their favorite charities by filling out a form through their unit's CFC representative.

The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

For more information about CFC or for a list of charities, contact your unit's CFC representative, or visit www.gatewayCFC.org.

The charitable campaign ends Nov. 16.  However, individuals can still donate using myPay until Dec. 15.
