  • Global partners work together to streamline C-17 operations

    Personnel from the 305th Air Mobility Wing, U.S. Air Force leaders and Boeing Co. representatives hosted the C-17 Globemaster III Enterprise Home Station Check Lean Event here, June 18. The Air Force-wide enterprise event brought together everyone affiliated with the C-17 missions and worked to minimize the time frame for the aircraft’s home station check process, which is a required scheduled inspection. All participants who attended worked to streamline and lean out productivity issues.
  • Refuel to remember: Team MacDill Total Force supports 100-year commemoration flight

    Ground crews from the 6th Air Mobility Wing and aircrews from the 927th Air Refueling Wing collaborated to ensure success of a 100-year WWI commemorative training mission over France. They offloaded over 65,000 pounds of fuel to a 96th Bomb Squadron’s B-52 proving Total Force Integration is key to airpower.
  • Air Advisors conduct first-ever BPC mission in Costa Rica

    The 571st Mobility Support Advisory Squadron recently conducted their first-ever mission to the Central American country of Costa Rica. The nine member team, executed a three-week building partnership capacity mission with the air vigilance service, from May 16 through June 9, 2018.
  • Airmen, Soldiers conquer subzero temps during Arctic Pegasus

    JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. — Members from the 62nd Airlift Wing teamed up with Soldiers for to take part in Exercise Arctic Pegasus from March 11 to 14 in Alaska. During this four-day exercise, Airmen assigned to the 7th and 8th Airlift Squadrons braved bitter winds and freezing temperatures transporting approximately 30 Soldiers and Interim Armored Strykers using C-17 Globemaster IIIs.

  • EOS graduates first AMC QA Supervision course class

    JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. — The first class of Airmen graduated from the Air Mobility Command Quality Assurance Supervision course at the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Operations School here March 2, 2018. The course, which was requested in 2016 by Brig. Gen. Stacy Hawkins, AMC’s director of Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, is designed to address trending deficiencies in quality assurance supervision by enhancing student’s knowledge in executing the roles and responsibilities of QA superintendents and chief inspectors.

  • Exercise strengthens worldwide deployment capabilities

    JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. — The 437th Airlift Wing and 628th Air Base Wing teamed up during mobility exercise Bold Eagle, testing their ability to rapidly deploy and operate in a contested environment. The two phase exercise began Feb. 20, with Airmen receiving notification to simulate deployment Feb. 26.

  • 317th AW prepares for tomorrow’s fight

    To prepare for tomorrow, the 317th Airlift Wing conducted a full spectrum readiness sortie Oct. 19 and 20, 2017 at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. During the full spectrum readiness sortie, aircrew, maintenance and support personnel worked together to conduct a local training sortie in a simulated high-threat environment.
