The 319th Air Base Wing teams up with Special Olympics

Special Olympic athletes practice their soccer skills with Airmen from the 319th Air Base Wing during the Unified Soccer Expo, June 26, 2013, on Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. Six athletes teamed with 20 Airmen from base to learn and practice the rules of soccer. After learning the fundamentals, the athletes played four games of five-on-five. This was the first Special Olympics event held on base since the 1980s, and the event brought Airmen and Special Olympic athletes together to play soccer.
