A BPA utility vehicle weighing about 50,000 pounds and stretching about 35 feet is slowly backed into the mouth of at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., C-5 Galaxy on the flightline at Fairchild AFB, Wash., Nov. 3. The wooden ramp allows the vehicles to enter without the top scraping against the roof of the aircraft. The C-5 departed with 19 BPA employee volunteers and five of their 14 vehicles at about 11 a.m. for Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst, N.J. The rest of the vehicles are being flown to the East Coast by two C-17 Globemasters assigned to Joint Base Charleston, S.C.
