Staff Sgt. Saul Buenrostro, left, and Master Sgt. Jason Nipar, both C-5 loadmasters, 60th Airlift Wing, Travis Air Force Base, Calif., lay the first board down to enhance the ramp of the C-5 on the Fairchild AFB flightline Nov. 3, 2012. Two of the largest utility vehicles weighed about 50,000 pounds and were more than 35 feet in length. A wooden ramp allowed these larger vehicles to enter the aircraft at a shallower angle. The C-5 departed with 19 BPA employee volunteers and five of their 14 vehicles at about 11 a.m. for Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst. The rest of the vehicles are being flown to the East Coast by two C-17 Globemasters assigned to Joint Base Charleston, S.C. BPA will make their way to Long Island, N.Y., to help restore power that was knocked out by Hurricane Sandy. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Taylor Curry)
