Fallen Airman awarded Silver Star
Lt. Col. Lee Wheeler, commander of the 168th Air Suport Operations Squadron from Peoria, Ill., commands a formation Tactical Air Control Party members during a Silver Star medal presentation for Senior Airman Bradley Smith Sept. 8, 2012 in Smith's hometown of Troy, Ill. Smith was killed in action while serving as a TACP in Afghanistan. Members of the 168th and 169th ASOS units joined in with the 10th ASOS--the unit Smith had been assigned--for the formation.
