Steve Cadmus uses a ball rotary file at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., May 3, 2012 to modify a scallop ring so heat expansion will not cause cracking. Cadmus served in the Air Force for four years as an aircraft mechanic on C-5 Galaxys, C-141 Starlifters and F-4E Phantoms. He performs several modifications to the F-117 engine, which is later used on the C-17 Globemaster III. Cadmus is a United Airlines aircraft mechanic.
