Fourteen landowners who allow their property to be used by the 22nd Air Refueling Wing safety officials for the Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard program, visited McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., Nov. 10, 2011. Landowners viewed the mission of the 22nd ARW and the BASH program firsthand. Since the implementation of the program, bird strikes have decreased by more than 30 percent.
