F-16s refueled on final no-fly missions for Operation Unified Protector
A KC-135 Stratotanker, deployed to the 313th Air Expeditionary Wing in the European theater of operations, refuels a U.S. Air Force F-16 over the Mediterranean Sea on the final mission day of flying during Operation Unified Protector on Oct. 31, 2011. The United Nations' mandated mission lead to a coalition of 28 countries and the enforcement of a no-fly zone and maritime embargo to protect the citizens of Libya. The 313th AEW brought together a Total Force Airmen who delivered more than 24 million gallons of fuel during the operation. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Maj. Andra Higgs)
