Landing Zone Safety Officer Field Training
Senior Airman Jesse Medrano, Joint Terminal Air Controller, 807th Expeditionary Air Support Operations Squadron, Forward Operating Base Lagman, Afghanistan,deployed from the 10th Air Support Operations Squadron, Ft. Riley, Kan., and Staff Sgt. Brandon Craig,deployed from the 2nd Air Support Operations Squadron, Vilseck, Germany, conduct a foreign object debris walk and inspection of a dirt landing zone in the Zabul Province of Afghanistan near FOB Lagman as part of the hands on portion of a Landing Zone Safety Officer (LZSO) class. The class consisted of U.S. Air Force, Army, and Romanian Army personnel who were there to be certified to safely run the dirt landing and drop zone.
