Past and present heroes honor the fallen

Service members from every branch render salutes to the Prisoner of War/Missing in Action flag following the end of a 24-hour run on Joint Base Charleston, S.C., Sept. 17, 2010. A series of teams held the running vigil at the base track, circling it until the last leg of the run. For the final portion of the run, a joint-service team was followed by a fire truck and two patrol cars as they ran down Hill Boulevard to the base parade grounds.
