A C-17 Globemaster III from Joint Base Charleston closes in on the refueling boom of a KC-135R Stratotanker from the 434th Air Refueling Wing, Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind., during an aerial refueling mission Aug. 4, 2010. The C-17 Globemaster III is the newest, most flexible cargo aircraft to enter the airlift force. Teamed with the KC-135 Stratotanker, the aircraft are able to deploy Air Mobility Command's three core competencies of strategic airlift, air refueling and aeromedical evacuation worldwide.
