Big for a Day
Airman 1st Class Kristin Kallsen, 22nd Communications Squadron network operations apprentice, shows a plastic M-16 to A’nya Collins, 6 years old, a Sedgewick County’s Big Brothers Big Sisters “little” during “Big for a Day” celebration, Aug. 5, 2010, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. Several Airmen of Team McConnell are "bigs" - Big Brothers or Big Sisters, for high-risk youth. These bigs volunteer their time to being role models and providing "littles" life-enriching activities. The Big Brothers Big Sisters program visits McConnell to foster mentorship between local children and the base populace, while becoming familiar with 22nd Air Refueling Wing mission.
