Airman 1st Johnny Ortiz, 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle operator dispatcher, couples electrical and brake air lines from a tractor to a trailer Aug. 3, 2010, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. Vehicles, like the tractor, are used to do cargo sweeps on base every day. One person averages approximately 389 parts at a net worth of $156,000 total. Vehicle operations personnel work Monday through Friday, 24 hours a day, and weekends from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. and have stand by personnel for emergencies.
