Avionics of Excellence
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Keiron Legg checks the night mode on a C-17 Heads-Up-Display Unit May 25, 2010, at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. Airman Legg checks the night mode for sharpness, focus, uniformed brightness and to ensure that there is no double image with the HUD. The Avionics Shop recently won the Chief of Staff Team Excellence Award for 2009 from Air Force Reserve Command. Innovations designed by Charleston’s Avionics Shop in the repair process of Heads-Up Display Units were instrumental in winning this award and competing at the Air Force level. Airman Legg is a test station and components journeyman with the 437th Maintenance Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo/James M. Bowman)
