Maintainers make historic engine removal

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Stefan Sianis, 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron mechanic, inspects a KC-135R Stratotanker F108-100 engine before it is lowered from the aircraft. Once removed, the engine will be sent to the 76th Propulsion Maintenance Group at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., for refurbishment. After 26 years of service, the engine serial number 711107 is the last original F108 engine to be refurbished. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Abigail Klein)
