CRW Assessment Team evaluates cargo solutions for stakeholders in Afghanistan
Using a surveying tool, U.S. Air Force Maj. Blane Rasch, a C-130 pilot and member of an Air Force Airfield Assessment Team from the 621st Contingency Response Wing at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey, takes landing zone gradients at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Farah, Afghanistan, Dec. 2, 2009. The team deployed to Afghanistan to visit all established airfields with a major military presence. The results of their study will be briefed to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) commander. The ultimate goal of the team is to help find solutions for getting more forces into the war zone and sustaining those forces once they are in place.
