CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Airman 1st Class Bryan Mathey trains on the proper procedures for connecting a waste hose to a C-17 during a lavatory servicing operation on the flightline here Oct. 28. During lavatory servicing, Airmen must wear gloves, a face shield and an apron to protect themselves from the 11 gallons of hazardous fluid pumped into the aircraft used to clean and disinfect the lavatory system.
