First C-17 combat “Screamer” airdrop

Staff Sgt. Derek Howard, 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, watches six Container Delivery System supply bundles as they parachute to the ground over Afghanistan May 24. The C-17 employed the Joint Precision Airdrop System in combination with the Improved Container Delivery System to increase accuracy of airdrops.
