Afghan general visits Scott AFB
SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Gen. Arthur J. Lichte, commander of Air Mobility Command, greets Maj. Gen. Mohammad Dawran, commander of the Afghan National Army Air Corps, as he arrives at Scott AFB July 15. During the visit, General Dawran met with General Lichte, as well as Gen. Duncan McNabb, commander of U.S. Transportation Command. General Dawran also visited the 932nd Maintenance Group (Air Force Reserve), as well as the 375th Aeromedical Staging Facility, which included a tour of an aeromedically-configured C-130 Hercules. According to AMC officials, the purpose of General Dawran's visit here was to continue an open dialog between senior military leaders of the two countries and to reinforce airlift concepts that are being applied throughout Afghanistan.
