C-17 Polar airdrop
SOUTH POLE -- An autographed pallet of cargo from the first C-17 Globemaster III airdrop to the South Pole, Dec. 20, 2006. Staffed by Airmen from McChord Air Force Base's 62nd and 446th Airlift Wings, the crew delivered 70 tons of supplies to the National Science Foundation. The mission was a "proof of concept" flight.
