An airfield assessment team from the 615th Contingency Response Wing prepares to depart Bicycle Lake at Fort Irwin, Calif., June 15 for Travis Air Force Base, Calif., after completing their surveys at one of the four HYDRA locations throughout California. The annual simulation was designed to demonstrate joint and cross-lateral coordination of bare-base setup, runway development, cargo and personnel airdrop proficiency, and other critical airlift capabilities between multiple airfields during a natural disaster. The comprehensive joint, total force training venue is hosted annually by the 615th CRW. (U.S. Air Force photo/1st Lt. Nicole Langley)
