Engine observation

BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- Senior Airman James Martin, 777th Expeditonary Airlift Squadron instructor loadmaster, observes engine startup before his C-130 departs for a mission. Because the squadron is manned for the number of aircraft instead of the number of missions, aircraft crews work 14 to 16 hour days to keep C-130s producing twice the amount of missions of any other airlfit squadron in Soutwest Asia.
