Fairchild refuelers support long range bombers, ensure global mobility with training mission
A B-2 Spirit bomber from Whiteman AFB, Mo., prepares to receive fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker from Fairchild AFB, Wash., April 2, 2014, during a non-stop flight from Missouri to training ranges in Hawaii. The mission, which spanned nearly 8,000 miles from home station to drop site and back to home installation, helped the pilots hone their skills at operating during a long-duration flight; an important element of U.S. Strategic Command’s enduring deterrence capability.
