Fairchild refuelers support long range bombers, ensure global mobility with training mission
A KC-135 Stratotanker from Fairchild AFB, Wash., refuels a B-2 Spirit bomber from Whiteman AFB, Mo., April 2, 2014, during a non-stop flight from Missouri to training ranges in Hawaii. The 20-plus hour training missions demonstrated the U.S.’ capability to provide a flexible and always-ready force to respond to a variety of threats and situations within U.S. Strategic Command’s global strike and strategic deterrence missions. Supporting training missions like this provide opportunities to ensure bomber and air refueling forces maintain a high state of readiness and demonstrate flexible and always-ready capabilities to respond to a variety of threats and situations.
